This painting depicts the optimism to view the 1st day of the post pandemic era. Stronger and ready to face the new normal. The subject/model is among Hongkong's emerging prima ballerinas who remained unbent by the challenges of the pandemic.
Lilibeth Mendoza Peñaflor, with artist name AMBIT MENDOZA is a graduate of Fine Arts from the University of the East (2000). Before turning full-time into painting, she has worked as Head Designer for a local jewellery and fashion accessories company, transitioned to Fashion Design & Merchandising with a Japanese brand apparel and a local apparel/retail. Themes of her works are a glimpse of her childhood, family life and her love for plants and bonsai. Depicted in softly surrealistic stories on canvas, mostly are bonsai-inspired life metaphors encased in glass cloches and glass jars. Her paintings were staged in solo and group shows with various galleries such as Passion Arts Gallery, Galerie Y, Galerie Roberto, Art Elaan, Galerie Artes, Nuzen Art Gallery, RGallery, MGallery, Imprimatura Gallery, A4S and Pinto Art Museum.
