“The Great Pretender”

Acrylic on Canvas

24” x 24”

2022

"The Great Pretender is a painting of a depressed clown. He is a clown whose job is to make everyone happy. He expresses joy through his ideas, words, and jokes. With various tricks, he amazes people around him. However, in my painting, he appears to be unhappy. Regardless of his colorful costume, his eyes are sad. Contrary to the loud laughter of the people, he is sorrowful. Nobody knows about it except him. Overall, I went for an impressionistic look. I also drew a silver grid on the front to represent the barrier between his happiness and sadness. THE GREAT PRETENDER WORD Is seen on my painting.”
